Over time, your skin loses its full, firm, youthful appearance. This is the result of a natural aging process when your skin becomes thinner and loses its natural elasticity. As a result, it becomes loose and starts to wrinkle. Fat tissue, which also helps to fill out your face, is lost, causing skin to sag and further wrinkle. This reduction in skin volume can make your face look thin and narrow, possibly making you appear older than you are. Fortunately, RADIESSE® may smooth lines and wrinkles and help your skin regain a firm and youthful appearance by restoring volume you may have naturally lost. With RADIESSE®, you can restore facial contour as well as correct smile lines, nasolabial folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. RADIESSE® is a safe, FDA-approved dermal filler that is made of unique calcium-based microspheres suspended in a natural gel that is injected into the skin through a simple, safe and minimally invasive procedure.
Where can RADIESSE® be injected? RADIESSE® can be injected in the following locations*: Smile lines: also called the nasolabial folds, are the lines that run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth Marionette lines: the lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth Corners of the mouth: also called the oral commissure, if these are turned downward it can make you look as though you’re frowning Pre-jowl fold: the area on either side of the chin, where skin can sag due to loss of facial volume Chin wrinkles: horizontal lines that can form on your chin and distract from your smile
How does RADIESSE® work?
How is RADIESSE® different? It is the stimulation of collagen growth that sets RADIESSE® apart from many other dermal fillers. It's made out of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres mixed with a special gel-matrix, which stimulates the growth of collagen in your skin. This means that your treatment is accomplishing more than just filling in wrinkles. It is fostering the regeneration of the collagen foundation that helps you maintain soft, youthful looking skin for longer than comparable fillers.
Who should avoid RADIESSE®? RADIESSE® should not be used in patients with severe allergies manifested by a history of anaphylaxis, a history or presence of multiple severe allergies or patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components.
What can I expect after the RADIESSE® treatment? What are the possible side effects of RADIESSE®? Most of our RADIESSE® patients experience very little downtime. Normal, injection-related reactions, such as mild irritation, swelling, itching, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site may occur. These conditions typically resolve on their own. Swelling and bruising can be minimized by icing the area as much as you can for 24 to 48 hours following your treatment.
How long do the results of RADIESSE® last? Although treatment effects will differ from person to person, Radiesse has been proven to last up to a year. Also, over time, RADIESSE® will stimulate your body to make new collagen. How much does RADIESSE® cost? At Red Petals Medical Spa, we are dedicated to ensuring excellent results and providing the highest quality service at affordable prices. As with all fillers RADIESSE® is charged by the syringe.
